Please stop telling me that dairy farming doesn’t hurt cows.

They don’t NEED to be milked.

They only produce milk when they have a baby to be nursed.
We impregnate them, steal their babies immediately after birth (some of whom they tie to a pole and turn into veal, the others are starved from birth until they can be slaughtered which can be up to thirty hours), and pump them full of chemicals to increase and continue milk production.

When they can’t produce at a “fast enough” rate anymore, they are “culled.”

Make your own choices but PLEASE stop telling me that dairy farming doesn’t hurt cows.

um actually this is only in factory farming situations. there are many farms (most smaller, maybe family owned, normal farms) that do NOT do this, and those are where you should be getting your milk and other dairy products from. as long as you know where it’s coming from, it should be fine, seeing as dairy farming, when done correctly is, actually completely humane.

Well, like the tag said….over 90% of animal products consumed in this country are produced in a factory farm environment. So, I’m glad that you feel proud for going to the country and purchasing milk from those happy happy cows but you need to be more realistic and realize that those cows are the expception and not the rule.

The truth is most cows in the United States are not cared for at all. Most cows in the United States have shit lives and suffer tremendously for the entirety of their lives.

Are there happy cows in this country? I’m sure. But that’s like saying that there are successful minorities. Congratulations but that doesn’t change anything.

Even “happy” cows in local farms get their children stolen from them for veal, are artificially inseminated, and are kept pregnant so that they can constantly produce milk. 

That doesn’t sound humane at all. 

Also note that it is completely ludicrous to drink from another species, especially beyond infancy! You are ingesting their mammary gland juice along with pus, blood and a multitude of hormones. Would you sip from a cat? A zebra? How about a dog? No? Then why a cow? That is absolutely repulsive.

Go vegan folks.

Vegan is bollucks, our body has enzymes for catabolising milk and meat for a reason. We are omnivores. I hate god damn vegans that try push their stupid ideas onto other people they are as bad as door knocking christians. Be a vegan if you want but don’t tell me to be when you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.
